12-13 June 1914: The sacking of Phocaea

Οn the 12th and 13th of June, the irregular bands attack Old Phocaea. Sartiaux and his fellow Frenchmen shelter dozens of families in four homes flying the French flag. He recognises some of the perpetrators attacking, killing, and looting. When the looting is over, he finds himself wondering in a destroyed ghost town.
